Born in Genova in 1969, he graduated cum laude in Philosophy of Language at the University of Pavia.
He received his Ph.D. in Semiotics at the Scuola Superiore di Studi Umanistici, under the guide of Professor Umberto Eco. Right after his degree, he started teaching at the University of Pavia, and later joined the European Institute of design, where he presently teaches Semiotics, Rhetoric and Brand Management.

Columnist for the online paper Affaritaliani.it, he has also worked with important Research Institutes, such as Eretici, Gpf, Baba, Valdani&Vicari, Cried. As a consultant for qualitative analysis, he has challenged himself with different texts and media: spacing form words to images, from design to films. He has lived in Milan, London and Bologna, but has never forgotten the sea and beauty of his native town, where he now and then returns accompanied by his wife, Marion.
